For Students

  1. Visit the main circulation desk on the 2nd floor of the Christopher Center.
  2. After you give the amount of money to increase your quota, the staff member will give you a receipt.
  3. Take the receipt to the Help Desk on the 1st floor and the increase will be applied.

Law students can also visit Mary Bandstra or Lorrie Hodge to purchase additional quota.

Don't Waste Money

If you're buying quota at the end of spring semester or summer terms, think carefully about how much you will actually need and use. Quotas are reset for most students at the end of spring semester and summer terms, and any purchased quota funds are hot carried over. Don't buy too much or you may lose it!

For Student Organizations

  1. Submit an ITicket with your request, making sure to include the names of organization members who are included in the quota increase.
  2. Provide IT with a general ledger number as well as the desired amount of the increase in a dollar amount.
  3. Student Organizations can setup a shared account (see below) for organization members to use for printing. A general ledger number and dollar amount are required for the shared account deposit.

If you need large quantities of printing, especially color printing, you may wish to contact DesignWorks (valpo.edu/designworks) and inquire whether they can meet your needs in a more cost effective way.

For Faculty

  1. Provide IT with a general ledger number as well as the desired amount of the increase in a dollar amount.
  2. To increase the print quota for a class, make sure to include the class abbreviation and roster list with students' names.
  3. Academic departments or colleges can setup a shared account (see below) for department members to use for printing. A general ledger number and dollar amount are required for the shared account deposit.

For Staff

  1. Provide IT with a general ledger number as well as the desired amount of the increase in a dollar amount.
  2. Departments can setup a shared account (see below) for department members to use for printing. A general ledger number and dollar amount are required for the shared account deposit.

What is a shared account?

A shared account in PaperCut is an account that multiple people can access and use for printing. Examples of shared account use include:

  • Budget staff use via shared faculty or department accounts
  • Student organizations with large printing needs
  • Allocate and budget printing by business areas (e.g. cost center)
